“Ever since I could hold a pencil, I’ve been sketching faces and capturing personalities through art.”

Hi im Dashawn (also known as “Chi”) a portrait and caricature artist specializing in everything from quick live sketches at events, to custom anime style illustrations. My love for art started with my love for cartoons, Spider-Man and dinosaurs. When I was very little, I would draw the things I loved even if they weren’t very good. One day in particular I asked my dad (who was also an artist at the time) to draw me my favorite dinosaur from the movie, Jurassic Park. I remember sitting outside on the porch as he sketched away on his easel and my eyes lit up, and I could not contain the joy within myself, laughing and giggling as he turned one of my favorite things into a piece of artwork. I’ll never forget that day. Now I aspire to offer that same joy to others around me! I’ve spent years developing my technique, mixing traditional with digital tools like procreate to bring each piece to life. Whether it’s entertaining guests with live caricatures, designing a one-of-a-kind gift or creating social media ready anime portraits I bring a mix of speed, personality, and detail to every drawing. Outside of drawing, I’m probably either somewhere outdoors enjoying nature and wildlife, collecting miniature toys or general objects/items, enjoying a good video game, or watching my form of cable television (YouTube). I am also heavily inspired by the Bible and with my love for God and my faith i recently started working on a secret project that combines my love for God and my artistic ability.
